Why medical weight loss
When diet and exercise are not enough
Weight is not just willpower. Appetite hormones, insulin resistance, sleep, stress and, in midlife, falling estrogen or testosterone all push the scale up and make it hard to keep weight off.
Medical weight loss at elev8HRT combines GLP-1 weight loss medication with lab testing, nutrition and strength guidance, and, when it fits, hormone replacement therapy. One physician sees the whole picture.

Who qualifies
Is GLP-1 treatment right for you?
GLP-1 weight loss medications are generally prescribed for adults with a BMI of 30 or higher, or 27 or higher with a weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes or high cholesterol. We confirm eligibility with a medical evaluation and labs.
Safety first. GLP-1 medications are not right for everyone. They should not be used by people with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN 2, or during pregnancy, and they need caution with a history of pancreatitis or gallbladder disease. Dr. Bernell reviews your history and labs before prescribing and monitors you throughout. Read more about GLP-1 side effects.
Questions

How much weight can you lose on a GLP-1?

Do I have to take GLP-1 medication forever?
Many people regain weight after stopping. We plan for the long term together, including when and how to taper.
