Semaglutide for Weight Loss

Semaglutide is a once-weekly GLP-1 medication that reduces appetite and helps many people lose a meaningful amount of weight with physician supervision.

How it works

What semaglutide does

Semaglutide acts like the natural hormone GLP-1. It signals fullness to the brain, slows stomach emptying and helps regulate blood sugar. It is given as a once-weekly injection, starting at a low dose that increases about every four weeks.

In a large clinical trial, adults taking semaglutide 2.4 mg lost about 15% of their body weight on average over 68 weeks, alongside diet and activity changes. Individual results vary.
